Jesus is brought before Pilate, and is judged to be counted on the cross - Mark 15

Jesus is brought before Pilate, and is judged to be counted on the cross
- And at dawn the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes, and all the council, had counsel; and they called him and took him, and delivered him to Pilate.
- And Pilate said unto him, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he answered and said unto him, Thou sayest.
- And the chief priests accused him of many things; but he answered nothing.
- And Pilate questioned him again, saying, Do you not answer? See how many things testify against you.
- But Jesus answered no more, so that Pilate marveled.
- On the day of the feast he used to release to them any prisoners they asked for.
- And there was a certain man named Barabbas, who, in prison with other mutineers, had died in a riot.
- And the multitude, crying, began to ask him to do as he had always done to them.
- And Pilate answered and said unto them, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
- For he well knew that out of envy the chief priests had delivered him.
- But the chief priests incited the multitude to let him go before Barabbas.
- And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What then will ye that doeth him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
- And they cried again, Crucify him.
- But Pilate said to them, "What evil have you done? And they cried more and more: Crucify him.
- Then Pilate, wanting to satisfy the multitude, released Barabbas, and beaten Jesus, and delivered him up to be crucified.

The soldiers sneer, mistreat and frighten Jesus
- And the soldiers brought him into the chamber, which is the chamber, and called the whole cohort.
- And they clothed him with purple, and put a crown of thorns upon it, and put it on his head.
- And they began to salute him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
- And they smote him on the head with a reed, and spit upon him, and kneeled, and worshiped him.
- And when he had mocked him, they stripped him of purple, and put him in his own garments; and brought him forth to crucify him.

Simon Cyreneus the father of Alexander and Rufus helps Jesus carry acruz
- And they caused a certain Simon, Cyreneneus, the father of Alexander and Rufus, who passed by from the field to carry the cross.
- And they took him to the place of Golgotha, which is translated as the place of the Skull.
- And they gave him wine to drink with myrrh, but he did not take it.
- And when they had crucified him, they divided their garments, casting lots upon them, to know what each one would take.
- And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
- And over him was written his accusation: THE KING OF THE JEWS.
- And they crucified with him two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on the left.
- And the scripture is fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the evildoers.
- And they that passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah! you who overthrow the temple, and in three days build it,
- Save yourself, and come down from the cross.
- And in the same manner also the chief priests with the scribes said one to another, mocking: He saved others, and can not save himself.
- Let Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him. Those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.
- And it came to pass on the sixth hour, that there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
- And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which, translated, is: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
- And some of them that were there heard it, and said, Behold, he calleth for Elijah.
- And one of them ran to soak a sponge in vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, Let it be, let us see if Elijah will come and take him away.
- And Jesus gave a great cry, and he died.
- And the veil of the temple was rent in two, from top to bottom.
- And the centurion, who stood before him, seeing that he had thus cried out, said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
- And there were also certain women, looking from afar, including Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger, and Joseph, and Salome;
- And they also followed him, and served him while he was in Galilee; and many others, who had gone up with him to Jerusalem.

The body of Jesus laid in a sepulcher
- And the evening came, because it was the day of preparation, that is, the eve of the sabbath,
- Then Joseph of Arimathea came, an honored senator, who also looked for the kingdom of God, and boldly went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
- And Pilate marveled that he was dead. And when he had called the centurion, he asked him if there had been a long time since he had died.
- And when he was certified by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph;
- And he bought a fine linen, and drew him out of the cross, and wrapped him in it, and laid it in a sepulcher hewn out of a rock; and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher.
- And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph, watched where they put him.
