Peter explains his conduct, In Antioch of Syria the disciples were called Christians - Acts 11

Peter explains his behavior
- And the apostles, and the brethren that were in Judaea, heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
- And Peter went up to Jerusalem, and they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
- Saying, Thou wentest in the house of uncircumcised men, and thou didst eat with them.
- But Peter began to make them an exposition in order, saying,
While I was praying in the city of Joppa, I had a vision in a trance of the senses; I saw a vase, like a great sheet coming down from heaven and coming up to me.
- And when I saw his eyes, I saw, and behold, beasts of the earth, four-footed beasts, and creeping things, and birds of the air.
- And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; kills and eats.
- But I said, Not at all, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.
- And the voice answered me from heaven a second time, `Call not the common one that God hath purged. '
- And it came to pass three times; and all things returned to heaven.
- And behold, at the same time, there stood by the house where I was, three men sent to me from Caesarea.
- And the Spirit said unto me, That he should go with them, and have no doubting; and these six brethren also went with me, and we entered into the man's house;
- And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, and said to him, Send men to Joppa, and send for Simon, whose surname is Peter,
- Who will tell thee words which thou shalt save, thou and all thy house.
- And when I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell upon them, even as it was upon us in the beginning.
- And I remembered the word of the Lord, when he said, John indeed baptized with water; but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
- Wherefore, if God hath given unto them the same gift as unto us, when we have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who then was I, that he might withstand God?
- And when they heard these things, they were still, and glorified God, saying, Verily unto the Gentiles was God given repentance unto life.

The disciples are called Christians in Antioch
- And they that were scattered by the persecution that befell on account of Stephen went to Phenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, and preached not the word to any man, but to the Jews only.
- And there were certain men of Cyrus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch, and spake unto the Greeks, and preached the Lord Jesus.
- And the hand of the LORD was with them; and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
- And the report of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem; and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
- And when he came and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced, and exhorted them that they should abide in the Lord with a mind of heart;
- For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. And many people joined the Lord.
- And Barnabas departed unto Tarsus, to seek after Saul; and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch.
- And it came to pass that all the year they were gathered together in that church, and they taught many people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians. Hunger predicted by Agabus
- And in those days prophets came down from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
- And one of them rose up by the name of Agabus, and hath signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine in all the world, and this was in the days of Claudius Caesar.
- And the disciples determined to send every man according as he could, to the help of the brethren that dwelt in Judea.
- And they did in effect, and sent it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
