Objectives of Paul's Letter to the Ephesians

This letter was not written to help the Asian people face any heresy or problem in the churches of Asia. It was sent by Tychicus to strengthen and encourage the churches of that region.

The apostle Paul had spent three years in the church at Ephesus; therefore, he was very friendly to his members. Paul met the elders of the Church at Ephesus at Miletus (Acts 20: 17-38) - a meeting permeated with great sadness.

And that Paul believed he was visiting his comrades perhaps for the last time. Since there are no specific references to persons or problems in this church, and because the words in Ephesus 1.1 are not present in the oldest manuscripts, it is possible that Paul intended to send a circular letter to be read in all the churches of that region.

Objetivos da carta de Paulo escrita aos Efésios

Esta carta não foi escrita para ajudar ao povo asiático enfrentar qualquer heresia ou problema nas igrejas da Asia. Foi enviada por Tíquico para fortalecer e encorajar as igrejas daquela região.

O apóstolo Paulo havia passado três anos na igreja de Éfeso; portanto, era muito amigo de seus membros. Paulo encontrou-se com os anciãos da Igreja em Éfeso, em Mileto (At 20.17-38) — um encontro permeado de grande tristeza.

E que Paulo acreditava estar visitando seus com panheiros talvez pela última vez. Com o não existem referências específicas a pessoas ou problemas nessa igreja e pelo fato das palavras em  Éfeso 1.1, não estarem presentes nos manuscritos mais antigos, é possível que Paulo tivesse a intenção de enviar uma carta circular para ser lida em todas as igrejas daquela região.
